RED PLANET HIROSHIMA CELEBRATES OFFICIAL OPENING

TOKYO – Red Planet Hotels today announced the opening of Red Planet Hiroshima in the city’s Nagarekawa district. The new 160-room hotel features the Red Planet brand’s space efficient guest rooms, casual atmosphere, and intuitive technology, such as high speed wi-fi throughout the hotel and streaming services on in-room TVs.

Red Planet Hiroshima is well located, adjacent to Peace Boulevard and just steps from the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, Shukkeien Garden, and corporate offices, consulates, and government offices of the central business district. Hiroshima’s Electric Railway, which transports travellers non-stop through the city centre and surrounding areas, stops directly outside the hotel, offering guests easy access to the peaceful Miyajima Island, picturesque Hiroshima Castle, and transport to and from the central railway station.

“Hiroshima is a historic city, filled with charming parks, symbolic buildings and monuments, and ever-growing food and nightlife scenes,” said Tim Hansing, Red Planet’s CEO. “This has established the city as a desirable destination among both local and foreign visitors, and Red Planet Hiroshima will help connect those travellers to all the must-see spots in the city.“

The nearby Peace Memorial Museum recently completed a two-year renovation in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombing, resulting in a record number of visitors to the city.

“We are very proud of the opening of Red Planet Hiroshima, the sixth Red Planet hotel in Japan,” said Renaud Tsorba, Red Planet’s Director of Operations in Japan. “Hiroshima has been a powerful symbol of hope that stood firm in the face of adversities, and our new hotel extends that message, offering a generous welcome to travellers during this difficult time.”

Developed and constructed by Red Planet and GreenOak Investment Management K.K., the property has received an A rating in Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency (CASBEE) certification, indicating the site’s efficient energy usage and low carbon footprint. Red Planet Hotels is dedicated to constructing and assessing buildings to meet recognised environmental standards and lowering demands on the environment.

Red Planet Hiroshima will join Red Planet’s growing portfolio in Japan, alongside Red Planet Tokyo Asakusa, Red Planet Nagoya Nishiki, Red Planet Okinawa Naha, Red Planet Sapporo Susukino South, and the newly opened Red Planet Sapporo Susukino Central. Under development is also the 191-room Red Planet Kyoto Nijo, slated to open in 2022.

Red Planet Hiroshima is located at 7-10 Nagarekawacho in Naka ward. For more information and reservations, please visit redplanethotels.com/hotel/hiroshima or call 082-577-1600.
